Girls weekend! When was the last time you planned a weekend for just you and the girls?
Summer is coming to an end but since I’m still in the mood for fun, I decided to plan a girls weekend. With only a week to plan, I decided on a spa day, movie night, and celebratory get together at the end of it all. Since my birthday landed on a Monday, I figured we could kill 2 birds – not really PETA – with one stone by having a birthday dinner/close out celebration on Monday night. Here’s how my girls weekend went down.
It’s been years since I had a spa day so when I got the opportunity to enjoy a day of relaxation at The Woodhouse Day Spa in North Bethesda, I was so excited. My guests/girls included my mom and niece. The three of us experienced various facials that met our skin needs.
Shortly after arriving, we were escorted to the locker room where we changed into our robes. We then headed into the quiet room before being whisked away to our respective rooms. Mira performed my Skin Assessment Facial and did such an amazing job. All facials came with a neck and shoulder massage. Mira even massaged my feet – I was in heaven!
The ambiance of this location sets the tone. From the moment I entered the spa, I instantly felt serenity.
Head over to Woodhouse Spas to see if there’s a spa in your city and book an experience – you won’t regret it.
Of course, what would be a girls weekend without seeing the hottest movie in theaters? You guessed right – Girls Trip! I booked our tickets conveniently through Fandango and chose a theater with reclining seats. I mean, who still watches movies seated in an upright position?
The movie? Lots of laughs, pearl clutching scenes (#grapefruit), and a few tears. I can see why it dominated the box office during its opening weekend. #BlackGirlMagic
As I mentioned this dinner was great for 2 reasons: it was the celebration of not only a fun filled weekend but also a celebration of my life on Earth. I couldn’t imagine spending this evening without my closest family and friends.
Dessert was tasty! My birthday cake was provided by Jenny Cakes Bakery located in Kensington, MD. Jenny was absolutely amazing to collaborate with. She provided her expertise when assisting me in selecting my cake and it was delicious. If my picky eater nieces loved it then trust me – it’s great!
Our girls weekend was a success! The money we would have spent on flights and hotel accommodations for a girls trip was spent on fun filled activities right at home instead. Activities that were well worth the money.
If you’re in the mood for a girls trip – don’t let cost scare you away. Instead, plan the perfect girls weekend at home.
Let’s recap.
